It's a new year and I've made a resolution to actually do something creative each day. I've slipped some, but am working on finding all the floor in my studio and inventorying (in my mind , at least) what I have, and what I don't use and need to pass on. It is hard to get rid of "stash", might need it one day, after all. But I'm seeing my limits and my lack of motivation as an incentive to get it done. I actually, have a warp on my "Cricket" loom and have been crocheting. One of my goals this year is to do the Saturday Market in Kenai. With that in mind, I have to step it up some.

As you can see , there's still lots to do!!!

Keeping Busy

I have been pretty busy since my last post..I purchased my own place around March, and with the help of my kids, I have been steadily getting it organized and settled.

My new studio/craft room is starting to take shape and I hope to be inspired to create wonderful things very soon. And since I won't have the excuse of "I don't know where anything is; I will be forced to face it all head on! I hope to have the ta-da pictures posted soon.

Back from Colorado

I was in Colorado last week to get my household items finally shipped to Alaska. It was a whirlwind trip and I'm still not sure if I'm coming or going. I'm not sure how I would of got it done without my wonderful daughter(in-law). And my sons and other daughter( in law ) who kept my doggies(very spoiled puppies)

It was nice seeing family and old friends, even if it was only briefly. I'm looking forward to having my looms and spinning wheel here and handy should the urge to be creative hits me!

It's another page turning for me and I know there will be many more changes coming in my life. My next big event will be buying my own place. Plant my roots again.

New Year , New Beginnings

It's a new year and new beginnings for me. I have finally sold the Colorado house, and am going back to Crawford to get my things. Next big step will be to purchase a place of my own here in Alaska. I still am having a hard time knowing what's next, but that's what life is all about. Each day is a new challenge. The days are getting longer and with the sunshine, I am seeing a future of sorts.

I am finally feeling creative again, and hope to have a project going in the near future. My biggest decision will be what medium I will use. Maybe more than one, who knows.

New Temporary Home

I am getting settled in my little cabin. It's a rental, but still haven't sold the Colorado house, so at least, temporarily, I have my own space.

I am having a hard time as I lost my husband of almost 40 years, in August. Half of my life is empty. He , at least, was able to get to Alaska and see his kids and grandkids.

I know he wants me to carry on with our dream, so I am doing my best. This cabin has a wonderful room upstairs which I am making into my studio. Hopefully, I will be motivated to be creative once again.

Planting Roots

We've been here for a little over a month now, Still looking for a place to plant our roots! We have a line on a rental and hopefully, as soon as the Colorado house sells, we'll be able to buy a place we fell in love with! Alaska in 7 days!

Well, we made it! I know I promised to blog along the way, but internet wasn't always accessible and by the end of the day, we were very tired. We made the trip in 7 days! A lot was a blur.:D Took lots of pictures, but don't have internet on my own computer yet, so it'll be a while for the photos.

We saw lots of wildlife, caribou, bears, moose, and sheep. Herds of buffalo roam wild in Canada.

Now that we are here, we still need to get our own place, going to look at a house tomorrow.

Only 4 more day until we leave

We will finally be leaving in 4 days, I can't wait. Started packing the car today, and it's not as roomy as I thought. If we didn't need clothes, I'd have more room for my fiber stuff. guess they'll get mailed. I think the Post Office should make a stamp in our honor, as much money as we've spend mailing! Next project is cleaning, yuck! Not my favorite part of moving!

Taking tomorrow off to go to Spinday, and say goodbye to my good friends. Then it's back to the grind.

Our internet will be shut off tomorrow but, I will post our adventures whenever we stop for the night, and if there is WIFI.

Temporary Store Closure

The Belfry Studio Store will be Closed until June 30, 2010

We are moving north to Alaska and will be closed during our trip. We will be driving and will be taking a casual trip there. It's a 3000 mile trip and we are making it our vacation. I will be blogging here and on Facebook and giving updates on Twitter . Hope to see you there. I will let you all know when we get there and are open for business.

Finally seeing end to packing!

Yahoo! The packing is finally getting close to finished. I have boxes for storage, boxes for mailing and not a whole lot left . I'm sure I'm just feeling optimistic today, and there is stuff lurking everywhere, but gotta go with the postive vibes! Maybe it's just the sunny day!
